BLACKBERRY COBBLER…

That’s my excuse this week. I have a blackberry cobbler in my freezer just waiting to be baked. I also have a vision of using this time to eat healthy and lose a few pounds. Many of us have gone the comfort food route. Many of us are working or schooling from home, so it is a little easier to get a snack. Maybe you planned to use your off hours to finally get your home or garage organized! Maybe you planned to learn a new hobby, or work at an old one. Instead, you find yourself binge-watching Tiger King!

Comfort is good in uncertain times. Nothing wrong with that – for a while. But this week, since we are several weeks into most of us sheltering in place, maybe it is time to step up our game plan.

Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself.

Leo Tolstoy

There may never be a time such as this to become the person we want to be. I realized that the blackberry cobbler excuse was stronger than my vision to lose a few pounds. The vision of that treat was holding me back all week from working on my goal!

We all have a blackberry cobbler excuse. Something that is keeping us from our vision of who we can be and what we can accomplish. Try sharing your excuse with someone today. How does it sound once you voice your excuse out loud? My answer is “I didn’t achieve my healthy eating goal because I have a blackberry cobbler in the freezer.” Can you believe that?!? YIKES!

You are stronger than your excuse. Realize you are always only one decision away from a totally different life…what is that decision for you?

In Triangle Love, Always,
Mrs. Turri
