Convention 2015, Traveling Around the State

Happy Holidays!

To the members, Supervisors, and supporters of The Organization of Triangles,

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of winter break and the Triangle holiday parties! So far in my term, I have not had the chance to promote our organization at any large functions since the holiday season is such a hectic time. However, I am looking forward to my first opportunity to represent our organization at the Royal Arch Banquet on March 6th.

The Organization of Triangles celebrated another year of sisterhood at the Onondaga- Oswego, and Capital districts Convention on October 12th. Ally Callaghan completed a wonderful year as State Representative and passed the crown over to me. The new Chairperson of the Junior council, Miss Alison Wright, our new Deputy State Director, Mrs. Turri, and our new State Treasurer, Mrs. Ferretti, were announced and installed as well.

Shortly after the District Convention, I traveled to Lockport Triangle for their Installation of Officers on November 1st. Beloved Queen Haley finished a successful year as Beloved Queen and handed the crown to Past Beloved Queen Sam for another term.

A week later, I attended Bal-On-Sen Triangle’s Installation of Officers on November 8th. This was especially important to me because Bal-On-Sen is my home Triangle. Newly installed Beloved Queen Halle made an eloquent speech and blew the crowd away. I am really looking forward to the future leaders of this organization.

I also attended the Installation of the Beloved Queen of Fides Triangle on December 6th . Ashlee, the winner of the State Director’s Award in October, was installed as Beloved Queen of her Triangle. Triangle girls from three different Triangles helped Fides install Ashlee. There were three generations of Triangle girls from Ashlee’s family present. It is wonderful to see the way Triangle has influenced many generations.

The next day, I attended the initiation held at Onistagrawa Triangle. They brought in a new member and then had a gift exchange and cookie exchange. The Triangle girls also made ornaments for the residents at the Masonic Care Community for the holidays. It is always nice to see our Triangle girls being compassionate for others in the holiday season.

Fidelity Triangle also had an initiation of their new member on December 13th. Yet again girls from other Triangles came to help and grow our smaller Triangles.

Since a year is coming to a close and a new year is about to begin, I am creating my New Year’s Resolution. This year my resolution is to be more compassionate and understanding to my friends and family. I also tend to be a bit of a procrastinator with school work and I am going to start doing my work long before it is due. My resolution for Triangle this year is to not only show other organizations how wonderful Triangle is, but also to show my support in every community where Triangles lives. I hope that by showing my support to each Triangle we can keep moving into the future.

If any Triangle girl is interested in having my job next year please apply to be the State Representative by January 30th. You must be a current or past Junior Advisor to apply. The application is under events-Convention 2015.

Have a Happy Holiday season and a great start to the new year.
In Triangle Love,

Annie Parks

Traveling Around the State

As the term draws to a close…

To the members, supervisors, and supporters of the Organization of Triangles,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the first few weeks back to school and, of course, Triangle! Our organization had an awesome summer. I was able to speak at many events to promote Triangle and our upcoming events.

I ended my summer by speaking at the Grand Council of Cryptic Masons. I spoke about making our corner where we are better and brighter by helping the community we live in and supporting the Masonic Youth. Our State Director was awarded “Lady of the Council” for her hard work and dedication to our organization. We are so proud of her!

On September 7th, I attended a joint Installation of Officers for FDR DeMolay and R.H. Meyer Assembly, IORG. It was an awesome celebration of our Masonic Youth working together!

A week later it was up to Lake George for the youth representatives to deliver morning speeches at Grand Commandery. I enjoyed addressing a room full of Masons who truly cared about what the youth had to say. Later that day, I traveled to Onistagrawa Triangle’s rehearsal for their Installation to surprise the girls. That night, we went back to Grand Commandery to enjoy a wonderful and very entertaining dinner. It was an evening that I will remember for a very long time.

The next day, I attended Onistagrawa Triangle’s Installation of Officers. Beloved Queen Megan and her officers did a beautiful job. I know Onistagrawa will continue to grow. I was so happy to see FIVE different Triangles represented on the floor to assist in the Installation. I am so proud of all that they have accomplished!

The next weekend, I had a slight vacation where no real travel was involved! I did attend Sunrise Triangle’s half open meeting where they did a great job and got a prospect out of it! That Saturday morning, a few Sunrise girls attended the Bellmore Street Fair where we had a booth with a local lodge. We are so thankful to have supportive Lodges close by.

On September 27th, I will be attending Fidelity Triangle’s Open House. If you will be in the Rochester area, please come by! It will be a great night.

The next day, I, along with a few of our Triangle sisters, will be in Buffalo for the General Grand Joint-Triennial for the General Grand Chapter Royal Arch Masons International and the General Grand Council of Cryptic Masons International. I am so looking forward to this!

I am also looking forward to October 4th, which is my Homecoming on Long Island! It is a public meeting, so I hope to see many friends and supporters there!

October 11th, your next State Representative, Annie Parks, and I will be speaking at Grand Chapter, OES. It is so cool that Eastern Star will be my first and last visit as State Representative!

October 12th is the Onondaga-Oswego and Capital Districts Convention in Liverpool. This is where Annie will be installed. If you haven’t already, please RSVP that you are coming! I know it will be a wonderful day.

Being in the last few weeks of my term as State Representative, I have started to reflect on my term of office. I am so grateful for the memories I have made, for the people I have had the pleasure of meeting, and for the opportunity to represent the greatest youth organization on the planet. This organization has helped shape me into the person I am today; and for that, I could not be anymore thankful. I am looking forward to the future of our organization as we are improving with every step we take. Thank you for supporting the Organization of Triangles this term, and always.

Traveling Around the State

Summer Travels from the State Representative

To the members of the Organization of Triangles,

I hope you are all enjoying your summer! Leadership Weekend was truly special and I cannot wait for the next one. From arts and crafts to Rededication in the rain, it was so memorable.

I have recently attended the Council of Deliberation’s dinner and spoke on behalf of the organization. I spoke about Leadership Weekend, as the NY Scottish Rite helps fund that weekend. The next day, I attended the OES Festival of Stars in Oriskany, NY. We sold snow cones, crafts, Masonic magnets, and more! It was a great day.

At the beginning of August, I attended NY DeMolay’s State Convention. It was great to spend the weekend with so many of my Triangle sisters and DeMolay brothers. We witnessed our very own Tory Sharon of Cassiopeia Triangle go out as State Sweetheart. Tory had a great year and we are all so proud of her! I’d also like to congratulate Tom Perry on a wonderful year as State Master Councilor! In addition to that, our very own Krista Wright of Bal-On-Sen Triangle was installed as State Sweetheart. I am so excited to see all that she accomplishes. I’d also like to wish good luck to Tyler Henderson, the new State Master Councilor. Congratulations, Krista and Tyler!

In other news, the Organization of Triangles has a new Instagram account! Do you have pictures you’d like us to share? Feel free to “direct message” the account with your submissions. Follow us @ootrianglesny to stay updated and see some great pictures!

I’d also like to remind everyone to continue sending articles for our e-newsletter to nytriangle@gmail.com. I would love to see at least two submissions from every Triangle by October! I can’t wait to see your submissions!

For the rest of August, I will be attending many more events to represent our organization and my Triangle sisters. I’m looking forward to the next two months of my term and I can’t wait to see you all in Liverpool on October 12th for the Capital & Onondaga-Oswego District Convention.

Yours for a finer American womanhood,

Leadership Weekend

What to pack for Leadership Weekend 2014

To the members of the Organization of Triangles,

Happy summer! I hope you are all enjoying your first few weeks of your vacation. Congratulations to any of you who might have graduated. I hope you’re as excited as I am for Leadership Weekend 2014! Because of the dedication of your Junior Advisors and our State Director, this weekend will be one for the history books! Get ready for a Winter Wonderland! I have made up a packing list for you all to try and go by. While packing, keep in mind that we will only be there for three days and to not over pack. You will be roomed with three other girls in a cabin that has a bunk bed and a queen-sized bed. There is also a night table, a heater, and electricity in each cabin.

Obviously, this is not everything you can bring to LW, but it is a good start:

  • Bedding (sheets, sleeping bag, pillows)
  • Bath towel/wash cloth
  • Plastic bag to pack wet towels and bathing suits for the ride home
  • Shampoo/conditioner/body wash
  • Small make up bag to bring your toiletries to the bathroom in
  • Deodorant/toothpaste/toothbrush/any medications/other toiletries
  • Hair brush/hair ties
  • Flip-flops for the shower
  • Cover up (for the Water Park and going back and forth to shower!)
  • Beach towel for Water Park
  • Flip-flops/water shoes for waterpark
  • 3 different outfits (all though we might just need two outfits, you might want to have another outfit to change into after the Water Park!)
  • Sweatshirt, sweatpants, jeans (it can get chilly!)
  • Pajamas & slippers to walk to the bathroom in
  • Bathing suits (some girls like to go into the lake at the campsite during free time, so be sure to have another to change into in case it doesn’t dry in time!)
  • Sneakers/socks
  • Sunscreen/bug spray
  • Extra spending money (lunch for Water Park, Triangle Grams, gift shop)

Please feel free to ask your Junior Advisor any questions you might have concerning Leadership Weekend.

I’m looking forward to a great weekend and making many memories with all of you!
